mizugori
I want to replace the standard locks that came on my super 80's with the tubular variety, but I cannot seem to find them... I am searching for them via google but can't seem to find them, and I heard you can get them reasonably on ebay but I cannot seem to find them maybe I am searching using the wrong terms....? Can anyone help? I want the ones that you need a round key to open them, so someone can't jam a scredriver in and try to crank the lock open. havending
The lock question gets asked about once a week. Call LAI or batton And NW even has them who would have thought

Quarter Master
Miz, What you are looking for are called "tubular locks". Do a search for them and you should find plenty of info.
Profits
It's my understanding that the tubular variety are the ones susceptible to being opened with a Bic pen tube. I'm not 100% certain but I believe the standard style locks are more secure.
Rick Falcon
Miz why don't you keep the NW locks they seem to be pretty good locks.
Bender
I didn't try too hard, and I tried only once, on the 1-800 shipper lock and the melted bic pen trick didn't work. It -almost- duplicated the tumblers, but the soft plastic actually depressed the tumblers a bit, and when the plastic cooled, it wouldn't turn the lock. After balking at the $30 per lock price tag from my local high security locksmith, I searched around and found Camlock.com among others. I bought tubular locks from Camlock, they are 6-tumbler designs with 2 keyways, with, according to Camlock, billions of combinations. The best is, you can get your own combination, that only you have. Their price is reasonable, and their turnaround is about 3 weeks, more or less. And a free sample to check the fit! Xoe is your go-to. Mainor, I am wondering why you recommend to stay away from dimple locks? I was seriously considering these. Please explain. mainor5251
Bought a bunch of 1-800's with new LAI dimple locks and already had 3 fail, one of them one of the pins fell out the lock. They seem to get jammed up easily, not sure if this is a dimple lock problem or a LAI problem. Just know I like the samples I got from camlock a lot better, want to find out the price difference between the standard and the 1/4 turn before I make up my mind. I am having lots of problems with dimple keys and locks. Especially on my outside racks. I am working to change them all out with something else. mizugori
What are 'dimple' locks? I am interested in camlock or baton, I called and spoke with baton for like half an hour yesterday (the guy was really talkative!) but I'm still a bit confused as to exactly which models can fit on my nw super 80s... It LOOKS like the 8100 would fit, but the 8800 series looks more like the lock that's in the machines now. Also, can't seem to figure out the difference between the 8100 and 8200?? Also, what's the maximum length of lock I can get? I figure longer is better since it goes further onto the threading of the rod in the center of the machines... so seems like it would be harder to pry off... but if I get a lock that's too long, once it reaches the end of the threading it won't go down any further and the lock will be sticking up right? Thanks for all the help guys!! Sorry to keep asking so much but I have a lot to learn.
Hillbilly
Be nice to have a little section about different parts of the machines. With some pictures. I know very little about the locks myself.
22443360
I having problems with my locks to, was going to empty a machine for the first time, and it jammed. I felt like an idiot, it took 10 min to get it open, no profit in that.
