jb5580
I went out servicing my route today and came up to my last location, which is my best. I went in, pulled $34.50 out of the bottom and then put more GB's in it. That is when I saw it. The coin mech was jammed ! I tried to work it free but it would'nt move. I was with my son, and wasn't prepared to work on it out in my van so I had to leave it for the night. I have a new NW60 on the way from Sams so I am just going to swap them as soon as it arrives and bring the jammed one home to fix it. That particular machine is the only used NW60 I have, I bought it on ebay, none of my new ones have caused me any problems. I am not sure how long it was jammed but at least it was full quarters so it couldn't have been to long. I havent worked on a jammed machine before, does anyone know the best way to free up a NW60 coin mech? Any advice would be appreciated.
will.vend
it could be as simple as loosening the screws on the back plate to free the stuck quarter, but it's hard to say without seeing it, most likely the quarters piled up and because they had nowhere to go the last one jammed. tritevend
Just the mech most likely! As your route grows, keep looking on eBay for extra mechs to have around! All equipment is universal and I have figured you want to have extras ready and available! You swap out the mech and fix it later, just rotate it! jb5580
Is anyone selling NW 25 cent coin mechs on vendiscuss?
shvend
Alot of times with the NW60 coin mechs the locking pin in the back of them will catch and lock the mech. Take the mech off and look at the back plate, toward the bottom there is a pin with a spring running across the top of it. Take a screwdriver or pocket knife and lift that pin up slightly and then the mech should turn. Remove what ever is in there if there is anything and give the mech a couple of dry runs. Just an idea and a quick fix if on a route

hutchdavidson
My only question is where do you have that 60 so its pulling down $34.50! and is that over 30 days?
jb5580
My only question is where do you have that 60 so its pulling down $34.50! and is that over 30 days? That is actually a 2 month pull, but it is the off season at that location. It is in a oceanfront Rest./Lounge in a very popular beach front rental resort area. $30.00 to $35.00 is the norm. monthly during april thru sept. Oct thru march I do 2 month cycles. jb5580
By the way, my brand new NW60 with a pipestand arrived today from Sams so I will be taking it out to this location tommorrow to swap out the jammed one, so that was good timing. Only one day from the time I discovered the problem.
KenP
JB, I thought about you today. The wife and I went to several stores doing general shopping, but we also were on a mission. We were looking for .50 vend Japanese Pencil eraser puzzles. I'd never heard of them.... It turns out those things are all the rage for 3rd graders! BTW, we didn't find any..... jb5580
Turns out it was a nickle wedged into the mechanism. I had to loosen up the back plate and it turned right through. On my new machine I put a 25 cent vend label in the front, hope this will keep them from trying to run nickles through it, that was my first nickle in a year though.
