dogcow
i have a smart crane, that ive posted about before its a small candy crane. i found a location for it and i went to install a lock on the money door (it didnt have one) and suddenly ive found a problem...the lock wont install. now what i had done was i took the lock out of the door from the coin mech and brought it to a lock smith shop. he sold me 2 new locks that were the same size as the one from the coin mech door. the locks he sold me , worked fine on the coin mech door...however when i tried to install it in the money door it wont install correctly. the came wont rotate all the way,so the lock can never completely go to the "locked" position and therefore the key wont release from it. the only way to get the key out is in the unlocked position, so obviously its useless. i tried replacing the cam "arm" with the one from the old lock that i took out of the coin mech door and it didnt make any difference, still wont close all the way. unfortunately i broke the lock from the coin mech door taking it off, so i have no idea if that would work on the coin door. the coin mech, door and assembly is a coin mechanisms 9102 series http://www.coinmech.com/product_profile.cfm?id=46 (the bottom door is the one causing probs) anyone have any ideas?!! i need to get this thing on location ASAP

I need to get this thing out of my garage asap the coin door that is screwy: the coin door that works right: it looks like something may be bent causing the lock not to go in at 90 degree angle but honestly i am not 100% sure that is not how its supposed to go in ive never owned something with this kind of coinmech before
sideshot
That's defiantly bent if you can put the old lock back in just the threaded part bend it back down with channel locks good luck

dogcow
I bought a new door from Happ controls they told me it would fit any standard unit however it does not i had to route out the screw holes with a dremel and make some custom screws to fit, got it in now though! one thing to note this comes off a Smart Industries crane. they did something very dumb with the design. It would have been easier to replace the whole coin door and housing with the one from Happ except they glued wire harnesses and other parts to the housing around the coin bucket. When you call them (smart) they tell you they dont support the mech or any parts of the coin door. well they should have left it modular then!
