PnutGallery Co.
If I am selling gumballs, can I claim it as 23.75 cents for the gumball and 1.25 cents for tax? We are required to collect sales tax here and I am just wanting to get my ideas straight. I have seen another machine or two with a sticker stating that sales tax is included in the sale price. It is not a big difference but multiplied out in large numbers over the course of a year, it adds up. If this would be an acceptable method, would you also then pay comissions based on the 23.75 cent price or the 25 cent price?
havending
You pay sales tax on every penny that flows through the machine. On the federal level and depending on your state laws there are deductions for comm., fuel, travel, office and many other things. Is sounded like you were trying to tweak your tax rate.
