Seaga TV3000 problem... maybe

PerformaVending

Recommended Posts

When I bought out some old locations, I got a Seaga TV3000 triple vendor. Today I serviced it, and the man on duty at the location said it was giving out "free samples". So I monkeyed with it a bit, but didn't find anything unusual with a test vend. However, I found that after it vends, if you rock the handle forward a few times, an extra skittle will roll down. I could only get one down, but I wasn't going to sit there testing it all night. The handle feels "loose" when it turns, though it stops normally, and won't spin backwards (as I feared). My hunch is that the vend wheel is simply out of alignment (the previous vendor set the wheel) and that the mech isn't anything to worry about. However, I thought I may as well bring this up- do Seaga mechs get "loose" like that, and is that a problem (or the indication of a problem)? This is my only Seaga machine, and I'm not very familiar with their products.

Thanks for all the help guys!

When the wheel out of alignment, it could be worse than just 1 skittle as it rotates. I have 1 location that I bought last yr and they were clearing out a whole head of m&m`s by moving the lock mech back and forth. Now I check every location every route day. I also have to tighten the screws on the back of lock mechs at alot of locations or they will come off completely over time. Loose mechs can shift the wheel out of alignment.

I just thought of a way to align wheels on triples without draining them.

Unscrew the lock mech from the inside and remove it.

Stoup down and look up in the opening with flashlight.

Center the wheel.

Genius Vendsmarts! I'll have to get back in there on Friday- hopefully the employees there won't clear me out by then! Thanks!
