T BIRD
I need some feedback from you folks on something. What do you do if you receive a case of candy that has an expiration date on it that has passed? Do you keep it? Do you call the company that sent it and ask why? Do you ask for a swap with a case of candy that has a proper exiration date? I do understand that even though an expiration date is old on a bag of candy or a case that is still good enough to sell and vend to our customers. I just want to know how you handle this situation. Thanks.
tedk
Contact the company and tell them you want to send it back.
lurker
I have not yet had this happen T-Bird, but I know what I would do. I would call up the company that sold it to me, and tell them they have X number of days to pick it up, or to issue a call-tag and have UPS, or whoever come get it. After X number of days have passed, I'd throw it out. Then I'd let 'em have it for thinking they can pawn off ther old, expired junk on me. I would also remind them that, in some states, it is illegal to sell food past it's expiration date. Then I'd ask when I can expect them to reship fresh product. If they don't want to do that, I would call up my credit card company and do a chargeback. Then I'd find somebody else to do business with. But that's just me. G-man422
Call the company. Be very polite, and inform them of what happened. Tell them how impressed you have been with their service, but then this happened. Hint at the idea of switching companies to deal with. Odds are you'll get new candy, and then some. That's what I would do.
grumpy
I like this approach better, to the point with no BS. Grumpy Oh and it is what I would do. lurker wrote: I have not yet had this happen T-Bird, but I know what I would do. kcinnick
I have noticed some candy makers put a "made on" date on the bulk package, I would make sure what you are looking at is really and experation date.
