Lighting alternatives in snack/combo machines

I have an AP 6500/AMS combo machine with a broken refrigeration unit (detached) but the light flickers terribly and will not remain on steadily. I have 
 - turned the machine off and on
 - Unplugged the light power source and plugged it back in.....
 - Jiggled every plug that seems connected to it....

I might be looking at either replacing the factory LED strip and hoping that works or just installing my own lighting inside the machine. It would have to be directly wired into the machine or possibly an extra plug that comes out of the machine, but really, it should be wired in. 

I need help with finding a reliable strip of lighting to install and how to install it into the machine's power so everything runs from one switch/plug.
