Pbuckler
I have an older Dixie Narco / ECC 2145 unit that does not currently use MDB. I would rather it use MDB for a number of reasons. Has anyone ever converted an older unit to use MDB by means of replacing the control board? I have thought about selling it and getting a newer unit but that's more expensive than a possible upgrade. I only have $500 in the machine and I have found a new control board for $100. I do have a newer glassfront Dixie 5591 that does use MDB. My thoughts are to look over the wire harnesses going into the control board from the shelves, cooling unit, etc and see if a conversion would be as simple as buying a new control board and newer MDB compatible coin mech and dbv. What are your thoughts?

Pbuckler
That sounds a little too easy. So it's literally just plug and play. No modifications necessary?

Pbuckler
It uses a mars vfm1-l2-u4c 24v dbv and a mars TRC coin mech. The two boards don't look much alike But I haven't thought about switching until now and it'll be a few days till I can look at the machines. I do have a few pictures of the boards saved on my phone though. Thanks for the help.
IVEND11
I am looking at a board right now. And on this one it has a place for mdb but the pins are there it is right behind the door switch plug. I know that I have upgraded these before.
