Check out http://www.nolo.com for a great selection of do-it-yourself business setup information. It will give you some general ideas of what you can accomplish on your own without the help of an attorney. Another great resource for quality information is www.sba.gov. I, like many here have setup our businesses, whether it be sole proprietor or LLC, on our own. There are benefits to using an attorney however you must consider everything in terms of your own personal needs and comfort level with this type of thing. Once again, welcome!
