Does candy ever melt expire?

I didn't know, do certain candies melt or expire? Which ones and after how long?

Now for your questions:

1. Candy does expire after a time. Most candy that I buy from Sam's Club has an expiration date on it. I think depending on the candy, I would smell it or taste it after a couple of months to make sure it isn't stale.

2. Gum balls last longer than chocolate.

3. Peanuts and cashews don't last very long so be careful with them. Don't put to much at a time in your machines.

4. Most candy will discolor and/or melt if in direct sunlight.

What about hard candies like runts, Sprees, or Gum, Do you guys think they will last over a year or even two years?  I inherited a lot of these candies when I took over a route.

I would think that all the hard candies would last for a year or more if it isn't exposed to sunlight. The gum I would give a year but I would test it after that to make sure it isn't to stale.

They will work well as long as the location is cool and the machine is not in the sun at all. If sun gets on them they will melt into one large mess.
