T BIRD
What's the best way to protect a floor from a steel or cast iron stand? Something inexpensive and rubbery I guess to site under it? Any ideas gang? The base is 18 inches.
skyviper73
What about going to Home Depot or some other hardware store and getting those stick on skidmark protectors that they sell to put on table legs. They come in a bunch of different sizes and a few of them on the base might do the trick.

bacho
John That's a great idea Skyviper has but be careful. Depending on how thick they are, it may make the stand unsteady and be more apt to tipping the machine over. You could also try an inexpensive rubber door mat and cut it to your size. This would give it more stability.

lurker
Hi T-Bird, Both Lowes and "The Big Orange Box" used to sell clear vinyl carpet runners or protectors or whatever you call it. It comes on a large roll and is like 30" wide. You buy it by the foot, so you can buy just as much as you need. It is realitively thin, but very heavy duty, and can be easily cut with a utility knife. I haven't looked for it for a while, no need, but I would assume they still have it. Also, and this is just my stupid brain working again, maybe el cheapo automotive floor mats from Wally World might work too. Good Luck! I went to Ace Hardware and found what you mentioned. That plastic runner material by the foot. Plenty wide enough also! It was like 2 and change a foot. I bought 10 feet of it. Its actually nice looking. The woman made a mistake and charged me $2.90 for the entire 10 feet!

T BIRD
Those rings are nice but very difficult to get on some of the bases.
