I have been self employed for 6 years and I am considering bulk vending now. I understand it is a lot of work but what kind of returns would someone expect on 50 machines.

also is it best to buy machines and pay a locator , use one of the biz opps or buy machines and locate them yourself.

Thanks for the input it is great to see so many people wiling to help.

Hello 537,

Welcome to the boards!

Yes bulk vending is more work than most people would

normally think. It is still considered a "passive" form of

income though, because the machines sit there all day long,

day after day, taking in money for you. You just come along

every few weeks, service it, and collect your money.

The return on 50 machines is next to impossible to answer

with any type of accuracey. Why? Because it all depends on

your locations. The locating of your machines in the correct

spots is critical. Also, what type of machines are you talking

about? Single head gumball machines? Doubles? Triples?

etc...

The U.S. government website estimates that nationally the

average per machine is about $7.00. (I read this as per

head. So a triple should do an average of $21.00 per

month). This is the figure I shoot for. Some will do less,

some will do more.

I prefer to locate my machines myself. That way I control

where each one goes, not someone else. However, locaters

can work for some, and can do a good job, as long as you

know who you are working with. If you do use a locator, be

sure to check the section here called "Locator Reviews". I

would recommend you use one of the good ones here.

Avoid business opportunity scams at all costs! Some may

look promising, but it could end up taking you about 300

years to make your money back! :(

Watch eBay, Classified Newspaper Ads, and Craig's List,

etc... for good new and used machines. It'll take longer, but

you'll get a return on your investment a whole lot faster!

The Pros here can tell you which machines to buy. They'll

say Oaks, Beaver, Northwest, etc... and that you'll need to

go with singles or doubles.

Alot of people buy machines from Sam's Club. They sell

Seaga's for one, and are inexpensive. If your serious about

the business you'll want the best quality machines you can

afford.

(A note here... I personally bought used Vendstars. They

have to be placed only in certain locations, where children

and teenagers do not congregate. They are all plastic, look

nice, but are not as rugged as they need to be. I will have

to go with another brand for my future locations).

Good luck, and be sure to keep us updated as things move

along for you.

Dave

Thanks for the input. I have been reading here and vending chat . there seems to be much more traffic here.

I am thinking I want double and triplehead machines. I have been considering this for over a year now and I think I am ready to take the plunge.

The work doesn't scare me, I have been doing lawn work so I am sure this will be eaier on my body.

Welcome aboard Jeremy.  I am new also. ( about 3 months )  Suggestion.......use triple heads in special locations with lots of traffic.  Singles and doubles you can adjust and break down or build up as needed. A&A Elite is primarily what I use.  XYZ m akes a very nice triple ( Easy Pro )!  The cannisters come off like Vendstar.  They are well built also. ( xyzvending .com )
