Hillbilly
I went out on a route last week and had some 1" toys that I had recently purchased. My machines were NW Super 60. Each head was filled up and a new blister type display was inserted. No toys were left in the bag. In the almost 5 years of doing this, it has never happened before. And now it happened three times in one day. I didn't stop what I was doing and make a count but looking back, I wish I would have. If all three bags were short then the supplier would have been stealing. Has this happened to anyone else lately? As much as I hate to do it, I'll be spot checking shipments in the future. Big Mike
If it was one of those HUGE stone ring displays from A&A you were short. I have never used anything except the eyeball test. a friend has found short 2" boxes in the past. I have never heard about it in 1" Mike

Action Vending
I have received bags that were 225 1" instead of the 250 that i paid for. I think they were glow sticks.
Jax Snacks
From what I have heard from other long time vendors... Bags (and boxes) are filled by weight. The pieces are never or rarely counted. So if the weight calculation is off, then the 250-count will be off. Of course, the weight calculation will only be correct if each piece weighs the same. If the pieces have varying weight, then all bets are off! I had the same problem with 144-count animal erasers. Each animal has a different size and weight - and rarely get 144 pieces as it says on the bag. A potential problem with some types of variable size mixes. Are these suppliers going to hire people just to count capsules? Probably not. Since you brought it up, what about ordering the empty capsules? Did we really get 2500? Sometimes I get more capsules than lids and visa-versa. Of course I never take the time to count 2500 capsule and 2500 lids! Are your pieces the same size and weight, Hillbilly? Nick505
I just had my nephew cap some stuff for me and one of the 2500 count boxes of 1" was off by about 50 lids.

No, they are different sizes and shapes. Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't know they weighed the product. I guess its much like we do when we weigh the coins. A nickel or dime will throw it off a little bit.

We all generally accept a SMALL margin of error. But a bag missing 25 pieces is unacceptable. The suppliers need to be consistent with the exact count for each shape and sized. So "X" number for a "Type 1" ring and "Y" number for a "Type 2" ring and so on. Rather than just dump them all into a bin with a standard weight calculation. Well at least we all know that the suppliers are lurking here. Hopefully they will take notice. We got one supplier to fix their thin sleeve problem for flat vending that was causing jam ups. After enough postings, they eventually restored their sleeve size to the proper thickness that every other supplier was using. Gotta love this site! Makes Cents
Quantity mistakes do happen. Also suppliers sometimes estimate shipping weight higher than the actual shipping weight. This happened to me a couple times from TNT. With A&A it happened twice but then they added funds back to my card on their own when their shipping cost was lower, which I appreciated. A&A also sent me a bag of 1" that was wrong & they made it right and gave me a credit on my next order.
