Why I got Into Vending MMMMM Crazy like to work for myself somewhat. I got the good job but wife doesn't have much in Retirement at her job. Small Town Newspaper. I have thought about it for a few years. Didn't buy into the Biz Op guys trying to sell me overprice equipment with poor locations. Now the kids are grown out of the house I work Tues-Sat for 10 months of the year. I figured it was something constructive I could do on my Day off. Depending on how large of route I grew. Limited Funds Not rich not poor. Decided to look on Ebay to see what machines were going for. I found the Vendstars for 30 bucks on up with shipping found mine for 50 and a discount on shipping if your bought more so I ordered 5. 250 shipping 75 total so far 325. No keys drilled them out. and rekeyed with new locks off of Ebay 110 called and got a locator company to help me out. Paid for 5 and ended up with 12 from them Just called one and place machines in there other 6 locations 300 dollars. Offered a head hunting Fee to some friends at work got two more. Started filling machines with candy and placing them a bag in each machine to start about 21 dollars. Per machine. 260
So Start up per machine 85.00 machine locating company 60.00 Candy 21.00 166x5=830.00
Locations Small Garage-Mexican resurant bakery, Check Cashing place, Sports bar, and a small Breakfast lunch place in the next town over. Just about to do the 1st pull on the route this week they have been out for 3-6 weeks.
have bought a few more machines off of eBay and re-keyed them the same also Cost 80-100 with changing locks Offered a 25.00 dollar head hunting Fee got two a Hair saloon and a Real-estate / insurance office near work in the Hood. Quick check the Hair saloon looking good. Real-estate office has 400+ come thought the door every month. Should be a good location. Both are close to work and should be no trouble to service
They head hunting Fee paid off she took an Old AC i wanted to sell instead. Works for me. Also informed me she might have a couple more leads.
Today on a Whim I called and talked with Rob the District manager For the Check Cashing place and Got a yes to place in all of them 5 2 are close to work one by my folks. 2 a little out of the way but a reason to work on more stops by those locations. Told the District Manager I was going to start with the Three head machines and might adjust as Sales dictate.
2 locations 101 plus 21 candy x2 and rid of an old window AC 244 1074
5 more locations Machines Cost of machines now 545 but got a bunch of extra parts in this batch
Candy 21x5=105 locating fees-0 spent 650
Total 1725 13 machines on location Charity Stickers 12x15 180 1905 spent and now to see what it starts to cash flow.
and just bought 6 eagle Cabinet off of ebay 66 and 160 all shipped to the door with a 4 space rack and made a deal on the other 8 and two racks he has 285 shipped to my door. Make a few pipe stands in my buddy's garage and now I will have a few singles to place and maybe a rack depending on sales.
