Hey guys. Sorry but this post is kind of important to me. I was wondering if anyone on here by chance have this key Ace Chicago tubular type LAN 28 which I really need badly. I looked everywhere and I can't find it. Its for a USI 3 wide snack machine which is part of a combo with the CD6 drink machine. Its like the tan color combo from the mid 90's probably. On top of this now all of a sudden my dollar acceptor is not working but at least my coins are. Its a good $300 dollar a month location. As soon as I get this machine opened I am replacing the lock with another lock so I can have 1 key code type for all of my machines.

I did try replacing the lock when I had the 1 key but for some reason I couldnt. I am pretty sure though I know how to replace the lock now.

The key looks like this.

Unfortunatly I dont think they have the key I need and neither did I find it on ebay. I want to avoid drilling it out but this is my last option if I have to.

I had a couple of LAN28 keys. I don't have those locks any more. I'll look through my keys tomorrow to see if I still have them. If so, I'll let you know and I'll just send them to you. I certainly don't need them anymore.

Maybe this will be a good opportunity to tell my wife ... "See honey, it's a good thing I didn't through away those old keys."

I'm kind of a pack rat. I absolutely inherited it!

Well very luckily I happened to find a spair key to open up my snack machine thank god. Man its such a nice feeling. Lesson learned though for sure, don't ever let this happen again. I also managed to take out the lock and replace it with my own. I found out the reason why I couldn't take out the lock last time is because even though I pushed the pin down on the lock, I didn't turn it with a sharp point so it didn't come out. By using a thin drill bit, after I pushed the small pin down and in, I then turned the lock and it came out.

Eventually when my route gets big enough, I will call Wixer (key and lock specialists) and get them to make me my own lock and keys which will be specifically coded just for me. No one will have the same keys as me within 350 miles. Although maybe it might not even be a bad idea to call them now as it can't hurt to already get protected coded keys and locks. I have noticed that theres a lot of popular unprotected key code keys and locks going around and I might happen to have one of them.

Wow am I glad though I didn't have to drill out my snack machine.

O and I found a small piece of dollar bill corner inside my DBV. Somehow a dollar must have got cut in there. I took it out but I don't know how much thats going to help. I have always had bad experience with Ardac Usa bill acceptors. I will probably get a refurbished MEI 2312 DBV. This will work out pretty good for me as I have had good experience with them so far. I ue cleaning cards as well but I don't know how well they work haha.

Thanks again Eddie, I am good now :)
