GagesVending
I just bought an Oak double head machine, and one side has the lock intact, but the other side looks like someone tried to remove the lock at one time, but there is still part of the lock threaded on the rod. Any ideas as to how to remove the rest of the lock?
GagesVending
Alrighty, nevermind! I got fed up with those locks! I ended up just cutting the lid around the locks. I paid $35 for the double head and there was $32 in quarters in the machines! Makes it a whole lot easier to simply replace the lids and locks with that free money! will.vend
In the future take a flat blade screwdriver and hammer down into lock, then clamp vise grips to screwdriver and twist. the brass inside the lock is soft and is easy to twist off, that way you save your lids. GagesVending
Right, I did that, but one of them had a nut threaded all the way down to the bottom, but there was no space to stick any pliers or anything down in there to unscrew it. GagesVending
Darn! I just bought the lids on ebay, they were cheap though. I'm gonna replace the globes though, they are a little cracked.

Action Vending
You could have just broken the globes instead of the lids if you were going to replace them. Just for future reference.
GagesVending
Yep, you're right, that's exactly what I was thinking afterwards, but originally, I wasn't going to replace the globes. They looked alright until I got the rotten candy out and seen the cracks. Oh well!

I know this post is old, but thank you. I have to break some locks and you may of just saved me money, as the globe is broken anyways.
