davidsurvz
I thought about weighing my coins this weekend when I was counting up my coins from the last 2 pulls. It seems like a good idea to get an estimate of your take. Anyone else tried or thought of this?
Smiley
$20 = 1 lb. almost exactly. $1000 = ~ $50. are you sure that there are no pennies or nickels or foreign coins?
Bravo Duck
Because the state quarters are all a little different they vary just a little bit in weight, so you can't weight just one quarter and say "this is what a quarter weighs". I weighed 100 quarters and the total was 1.2481 lbs, so the average weight of a quarter is .012481 lb. .012481 x 80 equals .99848 lb .012481 x 4000 equals 49.924 lbs Tom
West Coast Vend LLC
I weigh my quarters at every one of my larger accounts. I use the accu-count scale. It saves me so much time for my take and for quickly giving the customer their commission. It is alway accurate and did I say, it saves me so much time! The weight of a quarter is in the range of 5-7 grams each. You do have to weigh more than just a handful of quarters to get an average weight. As you can see, they are in a range of gram/weight.
