dloiselle
I a, in the process of doing a 145, got the idea from this post = Thanks Robert!! SO far, a real PITA!!!!! I started out painting it and screwed up the membrane switch, and instruction panel. So while I was on the phone with VE, I ordered the tuff fronts. They got here about a week ago, but been a little busy with other obligations. I got into it yesterday again, I ended up having to strip the entire front of the machine, including removing the glass (Mr. Murphy lives in my front pocket and if I didn't remove it it would have fallen). I currently have it stripped, painted it and let it dry over night. I have some errands this am to deal with, then am thinking I am going to start reassembling it later today - depends on weather man here they are talking 12+ again tonight and tomorrow. I just hope I remember how to put it all back together. The worse part was removing the trim, all tiny little screws with God there must be about 36 of them holing the trim on. Once you get the trim pieces off, the old panels pretty much pop off - I think the ease of removing them would depend on the age of the machine, but mine was fairly easy when I finally got to it. I am really looking forward to completing it, I was totally blown away by these pics and am looking forward to accomplishing the same.
classicglide
This is for all you folks wanting to know about used machines from Craigslist. I brokered a deal with a vendor doing some upgrades to his equipment line.I bought a few machines from him and he gave me a deal. This is a USI 2097, I paid $150 for this one with coinmech and validator. It was in nice shape other than some cosmetics. I painted the cabinet and put new front panels. I have about 6 hours in it and $200.00 total. If you are willing to look and willing to put a little time in machines you can find machines cheap. I NEVER put a machine out on location that has not been gone through with fresh paint and fronts. Having nice looking equipment goes a long way in keeping accounts as well as being able to sell in the future. So look for deals and learn how to do some things yourself and it will save you a ton of money. What it looked like before I started. I gave it a good bath first. http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh209/RJTXXX/usi4.jpg[/img] Letting it dry before painting. http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh209/RJTXXX/usi5.jpg[/img] Starting the painting process. http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh209/RJTXXX/usi1.jpg[/img] First coat of paint complete. http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh209/RJTXXX/usi3.jpg[/img] Complete machine after paint and fronts. http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh209/RJTXXX/usi6.jpg[/img] I'm looking for a small 18-19 item machine, do you have any that you would sale and for how much? RJT
I'm looking for a small 18-19 item machine, do you have any that you would sale and for how much? No I dont. I dont "refurb" machines to sell most times. Why do you need such a small machine?
