I'm hoping that people with malls will share there data in return for some information I'm sharing. Most of you know I'm mainly a toy Vendor not a candy vendor and have a few cranes units which are jumbled in my reports. I did some playing around by my COGs for last month was approxiamtely 24.5% with shipping. Here is my top accounts. I deleted there names for obvious reasons. Futher down is my worst 10 which are mainly seasonal. I pulled out my Little Orphan Annie decoder ring to try and decipher but all I got out of it was something about Ovaltine! However I can see some of the figures in your 10 best. I see you're running some cranes but what other kinds of machines are these? 36" wide cranes plush toys /w some Mixed in Mp4's (They are easy to get in busy locations where big cranes wouldn't even fit. I've also mixed in a few digital cameras from time to time if I could buy them extremely cheaply. Every account gets 2 Mp4's, 1 MP3 or camera at servicing. The Mp4's are often the target of everyone playing. I pay about $15.00 per tech unit inserted but typically only have to replenish every other month the mp4's. I tried running all plush but the volume more than doubled when I changed it out to a MP4 Mix. Most of the accounts went from like $50.00 month (crane machine only) to like $200.00 range monthly. Pizza and convernience stores kick butt with these in them. I will try to decode better and reload the previous post. I was to tired to do it last night. Also note: Some of my summer seasonal accounts made the worst list but hey won't next month I have a few tourist trap style locations so we'll see how they do. Most of my cranes do $60+ a month easy by themselves but they are close to 3K investment per unit. I believe I'll still hae a few locations out performing them once summer hits, but we'll wait and see. I also have a few new locations I acquired this time last month so I'm waiting to see. One of them has an ice cream stand and restaurant with seperate entrances. This should be a great location, I've got machines by both doors covered with a rack each. I'm trying to also get a crane in there as well but I need to gather some cash flow to buy it. All of my other locations seems to be worth keeping the cranes going. And how do you do it while working full time? Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. Did you self locate these? Or did you acquire or hire a locator? I self-locate most of the machines. Occasionally I'll buy out a small competitors accounts when the opportunity arises (Most of the time for less than I could pay a locator to get the accounts). 10ish of these accounts did recently come from these acquisitions. I'm also very good at getting referals which is key. For example I went into a location last month and found out the owners sister had 3 locations which I could pick up since nobody was servicing them. I instantly got them, and she even referred me to someone else she knew that I picked up. (On a single day I think I broke my record and placed 14 machines thanks to the referals - 6 accounts). PS. I do have additional help working for me now on placing accounts, and servicing 2 days per week. I have my father and mother who are retired helping as well. And how do you do it while working full time? Doing it while having a full-time job has been extremely hard, and I now spend most of my time doing paperwork and contact generation. I'm not afriad at all to go doo-to-door asking for an account or even calling. I sometimes do both. My goal is to place 8 additional machines per week. I often miss this but I try. Sometime however I end up adding a machine to an account (acquired), that I think could do more volume, and often I do increase my revenue by going from one or two machines to a 4 rack system. Most of the time upgrading them increases the sales but also extends the service time before a revisit, which is one of the things I strive for. Not just adding them to the pile of accounts I have obtained. More profit and less stops from each location is even more valuable. I also only target high traffic locations, and when I get an account with extremely high traffic, I then build-out around it to fill in the holes. It sounds simple, but you'd be surprised how many people cheat out and just put in a single head, or not review their revenues from each account/route.
