bulkvendingwizard
The larger cities around here are saturated with machines which makes them harder to place. I think that targeting smaller towns would make more just for the simple fact that most vendors dont target smaller towns because they can only place one or two locations within the city. Whats your thoughts?

Whats your thoughts? I think it's all about making it worth the drive and what other locations you can place on the way to that small town. It might not be worth it to a big vendor to locate in a small town.
bacho
Larger cities. More foot traffic, more money. It would have to be a gravy location for me to drive to that town, unless I live in it.
havending
Years back before vending I used to manage McDonald's for an owner/operator and all of his stores were in smaller towns. I once asked why and was told " there's money in the woods" I never thought much about it until in vending I placed machines in smaller towns and now I have many many small town locations connected by back roads. I have many towns with 3 or so racks maybe a c store or 2 and a super market here and there. Owners in small towns are more humble and like the few bucks they make off the rack. So get out your map and connect the towns. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
will.vend
I do good in small towns, and the owners are alot more accessable. (did i spell that right?) knowsmall towns are good for me. when I am working my routes I go through small towns to get to the larger cities, I always fill in spots along the way. I might only have one location there but I am passing through anyway. when working a route I typically try to make a large circle out of it, working one way and then coming home another. bacho
I don't have any small towns to go through on my route. That's why I said I prefer the larger cities. I'm not going to travel miles out of my way for one spot that is mediocre.

JLM Vending
how small is small? 30,000 people? 10,000? It's not the city that matters so much, it's the spot. You can have a major city with a spot that doesn't get a lot of business. You can have a real small town where people go to that one spot!

I have never took into account how many people are in a town before I place machines. All I count are quarters. Nick SDL
A large company in a small town is better than a small company in a big town, just matters how many people see your machine. Not the amount of people that live in the town your machine is in. Its all about location but i don't think town population is a factor in placement.
