thekobun
I have a few FSI machines. The use a turn handle knob, not sure if it's just a tubular cam lock inside. I could double check on my next stop. I also found this site who has the manuals for the fsi machines I have and sells the turn knob locks http://www.vendnetusa.com/catalog/viewcatalog/wfview.asp They are $38. Seems pricey. dogcow
That's a t-handle and the lock is a tube lock not a cam lock. Vendnet sells usi parts but any t handle should fit

thekobun
The thing is, I didn't specify that all I want to do is change out the locks so that the previous owner cannot come with a duplicate key and open it up. Is it possible to just replace the tube lock inside the handle for cheaper than replacing the whole handle?
Toad
Yes, it pops out Here it is
thekobun
That is great. When you say pop out, that means you can exchange it with relative ease? I searched for instruction on google and found only a way to exchange by drilling: http://www.ehow.com/how_7662461_replace-vending-machine-lock.html

I searched for instruction on google and found only a way to exchange by drilling: http://www.ehow.com/...chine-lock.html All you have to do is depress the small latching pin that sticks out and then pull the barrel lock out - takes about 10 seconds
thekobun
Great, I'll make a run today and see the barrel lock at the locations Thanks again!
thekobun
What tube locks do you all recommend? What do I need to look out for? size? shape? length? Looks like I can remove it with a socket tool and replace it. I'm in quick need, just want to change the locks so I am assuming home depot will have some on hand. thekobun
I see there are two different models for $7 a piece. I'll need a couple. Any reason why you recommend these, is it just the forum recommendation or your own on experience? I also saw an option for spring bolt or dead bolt. I'm assuming it doesn't really matter, this is personal preference? I like the idea it has a steel ball in it to prevent drilling. http://www.lsidepot....ding-Locks-c16/
thekobun
Shipping is costs as much as the locks there, when ordering two. This site is probably not geared toward the smaller sized vendor... See example: Item SKU Price Qty Subtotal BUY Cobra 7 Keys 50650 $1.35 2 $2.70 Cobra 7 Vending Lock Keying: Keyed Alike Pick Bolt : Dead Bolt TF1010d-7 $6.96 2 $13.92 Edit Shopping Cart Subtotal $16.62 Tax $0.00 S/H $12.91 Grand Total $29.
kiwi
Sorry.. I am not based in the states so I am not 100% sure but I think a lot of guys buy locks from "Locking Systems International" in Florida. Cobra is just one of their brands along with Medeco & Abloy. This is a link to there website.. http://www.lockingsystems.com/ The price of the lock will depend on what you require out of the lock & whether your looking for higher security & keyed alike ect.. Where are you located as someone may know a supplier closer to you?
thekobun
It's in a building with employees. Higher security is not too important. Just that the locks need to be different. I contact a local vending service, it is $26 plus tax. I might as well buy cobra's if it's that expensive. At the same time, I could just very well buy used off ebay. didn't think tube locks costed so much to ship or to purchase locally.
kiwi
I would go for the cobra's if I was you but then in saying that you could just buy something used off ebay if you are wanting to save a few dollars. I have some old factory locks here that you could have for "free" but the cost of shipping would cost you a lot more & with our mailing service they may never arrive. Someone else maybe able to help you out if they have some factory locks laying around that they will never use..
thekobun
I can get two keyed alike on ebay for less than $15, half price. I would prefer cobras, but for these older machines, I'm not totally concerned. Thanks for the opinions.
