Vending Machine Help

Roger, we must be twins.  Everything you do is what I also do.  With the exception of: if there's carpet I might curse a little under my breath because of the extra effort needed to roll over carpet. B)

I moved one machine for somebody else since I bought my high price dolly, charged the guy $125 because of where I had to get machine and then delivery it. A DN 440. Moved it from where he was fired from, he could not step a foot on the property! To a Barbara shop out front of over hang, good thing I had no problem there.

I do have one location I service the place did have the indoor/outdoor carpet, easy to roll dolly across.

When I do pick up a new customer I take pictures of doors, floor, wall where the machine will be located, just in case of damage, never had any problems yet. There will always be a first time, I hope not!

I will tell you about carpet! After Pepsi I went to work for a Casino as a Lead Slot tech. First job unload 1700 slot machines and put them on bases. No AC couldn't use a pallet jack didn't want to ruin the carpet. Only one way in. Think of the place as a football field. Came off the truck at the 50 yard line. Went North to the visitors goal post where we encounter carpet. Slot machines weigh about 250 - 450 lbs. No big deal but they bought about 20 harbor freight dollies. Then we scattered along the field with the heaviest going clear to the Homes Goal southeast corner. Thank God there was a young brown noser :-*  trying to make brownie points he met me at the fifty yard line and finished the run. We ran the wheels off the dollies the first day. There were only about 10 of us pushing.

I lost 10 lbs that week..... ;D

Thanks guys for reminding me about carpet! ;D

Well if 3 people are already telling me to stick with soda starting out, then that is what I will do. Texas is super hot, so it would make sense that customers in hot places want a cool refreshing drink. Seriously, thank you everyone.

What is the price range I should be looking at for purchasing one of these machines? There is a website called megavending and they were selling some different Dixie Narco for $1200 refurbished including shipping. Here is the website with all of the options: http://www.megavending.com/refurbished-drink-vending-machines-s/1835.htm Is this a good deal in your opinion? I am keeping my eyes opened for some vending machines in my area, so if it takes me a couple of months before I will acquire a machine, then I will stay patient.

Yes, soda machine is the way to go.  In Florida they run from $600 (single-price) to $800-$1200 ( multi-price).  Find a vending delivery guy, you're local vending dealer probably has a contact.  That's a safer bet.

Good luck.
