American Changer Security Issues

Recommended Posts

I bought a used American Changer AC 6000 several years ago , and if my memory is correct, the op I bought if from mentioned it had been broken into at some point.. At the time, I thought he was mistaken, as it had zero damage...... no pry marks, no bent door or frame.  Recently learned these units are very easy to get into. Someone simply pried the front door at the top, to the point they could open the lid, and get access to the validator/stackers, The nut/bracket the T-handle threads into bends very easily.  I was looking for some type of hasp that wraps around the front and top of the machine to prevent theft, but no such luck. Has this happened to anyone else, and does anyone have a solution?

I did this to my Rowe changers

I added thick Hitch pins

I sometimes have to drill the hole in the hitch pin bigger to fit a lock thru the hole

I drilled a hole and put a padlock thru them

you can paint them to match so they are near invisible for your changer
