gshelton11
I'm sure you have all seen this asked before, but I recently looked into going to Lyons Wholesale Vending and I talked with a representative at U-Turn vending. After reading up here on the forums, I almost wonder if I would be making a big mistake spending the kind of money these places want to buy a route of machines. I'm thinking with some due dilligence I could invest some cash into some used machines that are in good condition, or go to place like Sams Club or even the direct route of the vendor themselves, buy the machines, and make money quicker. My biggest issue I think is going to be placing machines. Would it be a good idea to look into these placement companies on my own with my own machines or do they only place for people buying into these business opportunities? Locators do get customers by referral from uturn. You can also hire the same locator for machines here on the board. I do both. I would read more before investing. Read the reviews of machines, read the locating reviews, if you can locate them yourself you will save more money, and what cost can you get a new machine vs used? Which can you pay off first? Read a lot more!
Rick
I've done a good deal of research on this topic. I was active on TVF for almost a year before I ever purchased my first machine. I cannot advise what route will work best for you individually, but this is the path the most successful vendors usually take to building their routes and it's not even close:1) Research research research 2) Buy quality used equipment 3) Teach yourself to place said equipment 4) Repeat steps 2 & 3 and/or replace with quality NEW machines at the top performing accounts. kdub3821
I have only been in the biz for a couple of years. read everything on here and ask questions. Lots of great people on here. I have always bought used especially from u turn. They charge way to much for new. Locate whenever you can then use locators when your in a slump. Buying a set up route is nice but to me every opportunity to buy from someone came up crappy. Sellers want way to much or didn't take care of their accounts. If you do want to buy do your homework.
