I want to clear a door with 31.5" width.. figured it might be easier to take the door off then to clamshell it.. Also does anyone have a spare 501e top door bracket? AZVendor Posted November 9, 2016 Share Posted November 9, 2016 You should clamshell it with the proper equipment and save yourself the hassle of removing the very heavy door. If you're still going to do it then you need a pallet jack and some tools. Disconnect all harnesses between the cabinet and the door. Remove the top hinge while the jack is just under the door. Then you jack up the door (with help to hold it steady) until it clears the lower hinge post. DO NOT mess with the adjuster on the lower hinge. DO NOT lose any brass washers from under the door.
