National 148 & full sized validator mask

I've got a National 148 on location and I'd like to put a bill validator with a full sized mask through the face of the machine.  Will it work?   Do I just need to removed the plastic fact that the snack bezel fits through currently?   I'm installing a card reader in it and won't be out to the location until Tuesday to check it out.

The original Snackcenters did not mount the validators flush to the panel. You could use a wider faceplate by trimming the plastic instruction plate but the only way to get the faceplate all the way through requires quite a bit work.

Ok. I might mount the reader to the face of the machine instead.
