GumballDragon
Hi, I recently purchased these used vendesign Quad machines, and having difficulty adjusting candy setting. I saw a video on YouTube of some guy that pops it out, but I tried and it will NOT pop out. I even tried to jam a screwdriver and pull it out, and no success. Someone please help...urgent. Thanks! TheSnackShackVendingLLC
They do just pop out. I have several of these, and they all pop out. If yours isn't, then it's probably gunked up some how. Try maybe soaking it in super hot water (from the tap, not boiling water) for a while and see if that will loosen it up. I assure you, the pop right out of the back. I have had a few get gummed up and I caught hell trying to pop them out. To the point I thought the plastic was going to break. But they all eventually pop out with the right amount of pressure, and keeping them straight as they slide out is another must. Hope that helps. GumballDragon
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'll try that method and see if it works. I ended up attaching a piece inside the cartridge to narrow down the candy wheel, and it worked. It vends appropriate volume now. I would prefer to pop it out and adjust it correctly, but ill give it a shot, and let you know. Thanks!
TheSnackShackVendingLLC
Sure thing! I had 1 that had been stored on someone porch for years... It was in BAD shape before I cleaned it up and restored it. The canisters had gunk in the candy drum, and were really yellow... A couple hours in hot soapy bleach water and they popped out, still with a little elbow grease, but they came finally came out... From there I just threw the canisters and all the plastic parts in the dishwasher on a heavy cycle. Came out looking almost like new... Best of luck to you, and definitely let me know if you have any issues after soaking. I have one in my shop that is gunked up pretty good, I'll see if I can replicate my steps. GumballDragon
I ended up with 6, and cleaned 2 of them.....so far, both are in good working condition. I have 4 more to go, and assuming my luck will eventually run out. 100% of the time i purchase a used machine, there is something that needs to be replaced. If and when I encounter this problem, where would i get spare parts? Do you have any spare parts for this machine? I took a quick glance at one of them while purchasing and appears it 'may' have been missing the Metal inside part...u know, the one that looks like a square in the center, with thin long rods that bind the 4 canisters together? if ur not sure what im talking about, I'll send a photo later...i might need to purchase one of those.....im pretty sure 1 of the machines was missing that part
TheSnackShackVendingLLC
Ok, your question about the threaded rods... Does the lid screw on and stay secure? Those rods are to hold the plate that the lock screws into. If you don't have that piece, the lid won't fasten on. I usually find some parts on Ebay, or rob another machine that isn't in as good of shape as my others. Generally though, if they're all in tact, you shouldn't really need for parts as these machines are hardcore solid. I mean if you break something, or someone breaks something, naturally that's a different story. But overall, they're pretty solid with few parts as is... You could probably fabricate that rod and plate assembly pretty easy if need be. They're threaded on one end, with nuts, holding a galvanized metal square with a threaded hole in the middle. At the bottom, they just bend to a 90, and slide under those raised pieces of metal. I will look in my shop Monday to see if I have an extra if you don't have it.
