ND5000 Not working

I have a dn500o that just displays  (*               0.)  and beeps. It will sometimes say software revision. it will just sit and cycle through this. the buttons do nothing. the survive button will make the screen go blank once in a power cycle. if you press it, it goes back to cycling  (*               0.  {beep}). does anyoune know what could be wrong with it?

Sounds like a bad logic board but someone else might know.
