vendpaka
We have a Vendo vue 40 and it has been working fine for months. All of a sudden after dispensing one drink, a customer went to buy a second drink and the hand reached out and grabbed the can but didn’t move after that. We powered the machine off an on and the arm went back to the bottom right home position with the can still in the hand. Now when we put money in and make a selection, the arm goes up to the selection but the hand doesn’t reach out to grab a drink then goes back down to the home position. The machine does this twice before showing selection not available on the display. It does this on all selections and if I’m not mistaken, once we try one or two selections on the same shelf the display automatically shows selection not available if we try any other selections on the same shelf. As we open the door the display then shows PDC error. That’s the only error in diagnostics. Lastly, the laser on the hand doesn’t seem to be lining up with the reflectors even in the home position. We ran discovery 1&2 but it still doesn’t line up. any thoughts? I understand vendo vues have a bad reputation but this machine was practically free and has been good to him for several months, hoping it’s a simple fix. Thanks in advance. Vendo Mike
The Vue was not great for sure but every glassfront has it's quirks. Start with making sure the rail hasn't been knocked out of level somehow. If you're relying solely on the upper level error that flashes when the door is opened, you need to hit your mode switch and read errors listed under the diagnostics menu. When it displays "PDC error", press #4 to dive deeper into that error. It will list which motor(s) are jammed. Share what that error is. Based on your description of the failure, it sounds as if your z motor is jamming or (more likely) the finger assembly is out of time. There are toothed rollers on each side that ride out on metal tracks to extend the fingers out to grab the drink. You should be able to count the holes in the track to ensure the assembly is aligned properly on the track. Sometimes a roller looses or wears down teeth and the entire assembly ends up crooked and binds up. There is also a ribbon cable connecting the main body of the hand to the finger assembly. If that is damaged or disconnected, you're going to need to get it taken care of. The FLO sensor (red laser?) should align with the bottom right reflector when at home position. The shine on the reflecter will be a circle and it should be aimed so that the top half of the circle hits the reflector almost like a sunrise. If not, you may need to adjust the rail for up/down alignment or shim the hand for left/right.
