Claw machine issue

Hi forum, first time posting here.

I have a claw machine. When the claw extends it closes, when it retracts closed to original position it will open as it returns back to start position.

anyone know if this is a hardware or software issue?

TIA

Isn't it supposed to do that?  When the user closes the claw and misses, shouldn't the claw go back to home and open for the next attempt?  Or are you saying that the claw closes on it's own as it's going down to the products?  I don't work on these but your description sounds normal to me unless you left something out.

I have checked from wiring harness plug back to every component. Checked all connections and terminations.

Claw machine

Wire Colour and action:

Claw and mech

Red : motor 1 - 15.4ohm - IR@100v - test good

Orange : motor 2 - 15.8ohm - IR@100v test good

Yellow : claw / cable and coil 13.8ohm. IR@100v - test good

Black : NO rope switch - 0.6ohm

Grey : common rope switch and up/down spring

Pink : NO up/down spring switch - 0.6ohm

Back/ forward

Brown : motor 3 - 17.9ohm - IR@100v= test good

Purple : side mech switch - 0.6ohm

Green : back switch - 0.9ohm

Blue : front switch - 1.1ohm

All wires IR test are all good.

What problems are you having, what manufacturer?

When the claw goes down and closes, it retracts to the top and opens straight away. Then returns home. Doesn’t stay closed and open when it returns home.

I have continuity through the could. Getting 16.5ohm. 42v when claw is activated to close. As soon as it comes up I loose power.

If it's an open wire or switch somewhere between the driver board and the claw's solenoid, the output at the driver board should still be "live" when the solenoid opens.  If the driver turns off that power, you'll need to start looking at the driver (leaky cap?) or the logic board.  If it's a leaky cap, you'll watch the power drain off until the solenoid lets go.  If the logic board is shutting it off, it will be more deliberate.
