dperry
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rt=nc&nma=true&item=280600374160&si=tQZ2sPF%252BjzivxdN%252Bq11dxVs4EFs%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT I got a big oak (no locks) for $9.99 with $29.99 shipping. So I got it for less than $40. Comes with an xcap too. I haven't received it yet, but I think I'll be doing some fix-up work on it. It looks like the aluminum wheel is powdery, so I'm sure I'll want to be cleaning that off. Does anybody know what works well for that? I'm thinking a good cleaning with soap and water and then maybe some mineral oil to polish it up. Also, since it doesn't come with a key, I see I'll have to break into it. I don't have a problem with the top locks, but I don't know how to do the front lock. I'm hoping I can go in from the top and then remove the lock from the front that way. I figure I'll have to find a replacement lock no matter what I do. Any other thoughts?

Hillbilly
I've had several wheels that have that white powdery patina on them. I use a single edge razor blade to get the heavy stuff off and then a stainless steel tooth brush. It does a pretty good job.

shvend
just break into the bottom lock the same way as you would the top lock. Either drill them out or us a large flat screw driver and twist them out
