Mailings

Hey guys, I was just checking to see if any of you have done mailings to companies via snail mail. I found that letter in the downloads section and I was wondering if any of you have tried it. If you have, were you successful? What businesses did you pursue? I was thinking that it would be a lot easier to say no to me via an email or a phone call than being there in person, so I'm back and forth on the idea.

Just doing the math and how junk mail is handled, the volume of bulk mail you'd have to send out in order to get any sort of response would take far more time, money, and energy than hiring locators, or doing it yourself. I believe there was a time years ago when you could have located pretty well with mail, but those days are long gone, at least in my opinion.

You'd be better off investing in some professional-looking brochures with a similar message to help you sell yourself in person than investing in any direct mail system- that goes for bulk emails and direct text messages too.

I haven't used mailings with bulk vending but have with other businesses and have had limited success not to say that it wouldn't work.

Truthfully if you really want to go that route I'd try just emailing the thing. Tracking down a business' email address is just as much of a hassle as getting a mailing address. Even if it ends up in the 'virtual' junk mail/ trash pile at least you haven't spent a bunch of money on stamps and copies. Open rates might not be amazing but I imagine they'd be a lot better than snail mail.
