The Mage
Interesting. Requires a lot of work, and a hope for the laws to change. Problem is the government has been trying to get rid of pennies for years. (And dump the dollar bill for a coin.) And they have not been able to. But really, compare the potential profits on this to the profits on a gumball, or a bouncy ball. (I love my bouncy ball machine, which has become my most profitable machine, and I am paying 30% commission on it.) The main guy in this story has 200,000 pennies, which cost him $2,000, and if things work out, they are worth $4,500, meaning he can make a profit of $2,500, and that assumes no other cost involved, and being able to sell it at full value, which a person needing to melt it down would not be willing to pay. But assuming he could get that much, if he spent any more then 166 hours collecting these pennies, then he has averaged less then $15 an hour. He could beat this by delivering pizza 1 day a week for a year. (Assuming 4+ hours a day.) If this is about making money, I don't think it's worth it. But then again, if he is having fun doing it then it is well worth it.
