Hey everyone started looking at getting into the vending machine business for a few months now.

we have been talking to healthyYOUvending and have a few questions.

we would be getting 5 machines with promising locations for 50k

Also we would be the first to put healthy vending machines in our area (bigger city with a university) so we would be the only healthy vending machine.

and what do you guys think about healthy vending in general?

RUN FORREST RUN !!!!!

There is tons of information in the food and beverage section (full line vending) for you to read.

PLEASE take a few days and read, read and read some more to learn about the vending industry before you drop 50K into a niche market business opportunity.

Welcome to the forum, stayeduptolate.  You have come to the right place for information on beginning in vending.

This is a question to post in the Full Line Beverage and Snack forum but be forewarned, you will be hard-pressed to find any vendors who care for Health Vending.  It is a growing market in general as the nation becomes more aware of nutrition issues, but it has never and does not now translate well to the vending retail channel.  There are companies like the one you refer to that are only in business to move machines.  They are no different than the biz ops that run seminars in hotels to sell mechanical turn knob machines at overly inflated prices to unsuspecting buyers who don't do any research beyond listening to the spiel given by high pressure salesmen.  They want your money and then you're on your own.  That is the reason you will find Healthy Vending machines on Craigslist from time to time as the poor vendors realize that they can't possibly make a good profit from high priced healthy snacks that don't sell.

If you are brave enough to ask this question in the full line forum (and I hope you will as I don't want you to only take my word for it) you will find that all the experienced vendors know that what the customers really want is chocolate and salty snacks.  The problem with healthy vending is that it is only upper level decision makers that decide for their employees, students, health club members, city community centers, colleges, etc. that they should only be able to choose from healthy snacks, it is not the actual snack buyers decision.  You will find that your customers will vote with their dollars not to buy very many of your healthy products.

Good luck with your pending venture and listen closely to what the veterans have to say.  If you want to get into vending you can read many threads about that very subject and the varying ways to break into the business.  Read, read, read and then read some more.  Do your due diligence before you drop 50 grand on anything.
