AZquickvend
Are these any good? Found a refurbished one that takes $1s and $5s. Gives $1 coins for change. If these are good what is a good price to pay for one? One of my large accounts is requesting a cold food machine. Thanks
AZVendor
They are good machines and are worth up to $1000 - 1200 depending on condition.
Walta
They can be good machines. Please understand they are power hogs. It will require its own power circuit. If the circuit is not present adding one is not always cheep. Also be aware this machine is 15 -20 years old any part could fail at any time. With Rowe out of business no new parts are available. They made a lot of them so you can find used parts. If the compressor fails the day after your warranty are you prepared to spend $1200.00 to fix the machine you just paid 1200 for? Also changers that pay out dollar coins that fit that machine are not common. Walta
AZquickvend
So we purchased one of these and it has been good until it started heating up. What temperature should these machines be set at for hot pockets, burritos, burgers, etc? Thanks
SchligVend
Hot pockets are usually frozen at least all the hot pockets and burritos I sell are frozen
Walta
648 temperature is not adjustable it should never get below 32 if the unit is working correctly it should cycle off at 33 and back on at 38. With that said sometimes silly people try to redesign there machine in that case all bets are off. Walta
AZVendor
So we purchased one of these and it has been good until it started heating up. What temperature should these machines be set at for hot pockets, burritos, burgers, etc? Thanks The temperature range is preset and you don't need to monkey with it. If your machine is getting warm now you need to check for a clogged vent screen and for proper spacing away from the wall. This is assuming that the compressor is running but not cooling. Also look down through the grill into the air return to the right front of the turret. If you only see white then the evaporator is frozen. If you see the evaporator fins then it's not frozen. Access the vent screen by feeling along the front 6 inches of the cabinet bottom to see if the screen is there. You'll also see the clips where it attaches at the front lip of the cabinet. Chances are good that your screen is missing. Whether it is there or not you could still have a very dirty condenser. You have to pull the cooling unit out to clean the condenser and it needs to be cleaned outside with strong compressed air due to the huge dust cloud it will make. I use a CO2 tank for this job but an air hose is just as good. If you listen to the machine when it should be cooling you should hear the evaporator fan blowing air up the turret (can be simulated by holding the door switch in the left corner closed so you can have access to the turret to feel and hear the fan run). You should also hear the compressor itself running as well. If you instead hear a click as the compressor tries to start and then it doesn't, or you hear another click as it immediately turns off then you have either an overheated compressor due to poor airflow or you have a bad compressor. Walta
It is starting to sound like someone may done something to bypass the health control circuit. If they did so this machine can poison and kill you customers. Use a thermometer to measure the temperature inside one of the burrito if it is over 45°dispose of all perishable item in an off sight garbage can. Press the “blank”0 key release the “blank” and press the “F” key if you get the timing right the current temperature will be displayed If the displayed temp does not match the air temp inside the machine something is very wrong.
