Big D
Hey VenDiscuss, I'm new here however my father has been in the vending industry for 20 years and has over 1,500 locations throughout California and is a member of the FCVG. So I've grown up around vending and am familiar with the industry. Anyways, I am interested in business and vending is a possible 'route' that I could take. However, I was wondering just how much would someone be able to earn? Not working by themselves of course, but through employees or outsourcing the work to third party companies. Is a yearly income upwards of $500,000/year or more possible or is that crazy talk? Let me know what you think, I feel like this question is too personal to ask my father. There are millionaire's from bulk, but why I asked if you had ran his route before is because if you have, then you would know first hand how much one person can do in a day. How much a machine makes in the amount of time it sits, and so on. Hiring people is like finding locations, there are great workers that will cost you more, there are ok ones that will be there all the time buy have little ambition, and there will be people that will just do nothing, then there are the ones that will rip you off blind. Hiring people is not just a process, it takes a knack for being able to read them, and giving them a little at a time to see if they can be trusted. I haven't hired too many for my route, but I've hired quite a few people in general. For the route hiring there are several on here that have drivers and could tell you how to choose those. ANY business can make 500,000 a year. Just depends on what you put into it and where a person's limitations are. Hire people that are better than you at the job you want them to do.
