BlindVending

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Coffee machine after it vends 1 cup keeps dripping from that line that enters the catch bucket. Keeps dripping until water reaches that sensor that shuts off machine. Why would it keep dripping from that hose?

The dripping means you have lime built up on your valve diaphragm and the valve needs to be rebuilt.  To remove the valve you must turn the machine off and drain it with the spray hose until the hose runs out, leaving the water level just below the valves. Remove the valve (this can be a real b#%ch to do) and disassemble it.  The diaphragm will need to be replaced as will the o-ring around where the valve enters the tank.  If you have significant calcium built up in the valve body or if the valve has leaked where it enters the tank then you probably need to replace the entire valve.  As you inspect the parts of the valve, if there is any sign of leakage into the solenoid then that's another sign you need to replace the valve.

Before you reinstall the valve you need to take a very small flat blade screwdriver and scrape off calcium that has built up around the inside of the bung on the tank or the o-ring can be damaged or not seat correctly.  You should also wrap a couple or three layers of teflon tape around the o-ring to help it seal.  If you allow the tank to get cold then there is also a chance that all of the valve o-rings will begin to leak when you refill the tank.  This happens because they shrink when they get cold.  When one valve begins to leak it's always a sign that it's time to rebuild each one.

If you need any parts for this you can email me at rbepic4gatgmaildotcom.
