Your pics show 6 pin MDB connectors, so yes, the board goes to the validator, which should have a "Y" harness, and the changer goes to the open connector on the validator Y. They are pretty straightforward. Be sure, as you note, to turn the power OFF before making or breaking any connections; turn it back on when you are ready.
