Wittern 3500 weird temp reading

Hey y’all, one of my Witterns gave me an odd reading the other day.

I checked the temp and it told me it was down to 31°F. Checked the settings and it was still set at 35°F. Unplugged and replugged the machine and it said 31°, but then climbed to 35°.

It’s now at 35° and steady, no further issues. It’s making me nervous as I believe I read that diet soda freezes around 31°.

Is this a temp sensor issue? Am I missing something maybe? Any ideas would be welcomed.

I don't know about the settings as some machines use a low range and a high range.. so yours might be say 4 degrees, so it runs at 35 degrees and shuts off at 31 degrees until it warms back up to 35.  That way, it doesn't run every 5 minutes just because it got down to 34.

As for freezing, soda does NOT freeze until at least 20 degrees and that's diet soda.  Regular soda is under 10.  However, water freezes at 32 and other drinks freeze at different temperatures.

Alright, that actually makes a lot of sense, the freeze points as well. I’m not sure where I read that number.

It’s reassuring to know I’m not running close to a danger temp.

Thanks!
