bulknoob
I’m sure this is some sort of rookie brain fart. I have a DN501E and when I deposit coins, and then press the coin-return button, the coins return OK, but the button remains stuck in. What’s going on internally can been seen in this video; you can see the coin return mech gets stuck behind the lever-type-thing that is attached to the coin mechanism. I welcome any thoughts ya’ll may have. Thanks much.
AngryChris
It's been a while since I have had any kind of problem even remotely similar to this but I *think* there is a screw you can loosen to adjust the coin return. You might just need to find and tighten that screw. To be honest, I don't know how exactly the return is supposed to go down because I rarely have to watch it, but it should go more *down* and not at such an extreme angle as in your video. Also, if it isn't already, make sure that the coin mech is flush against the metal encasement and there's no big gap between the coin mech and the encasement. You may just have to tighten some screws behind it, but I think your problem is that your coin return is loose. Someone else will know a little more. I have rarely gotten problems like that. QuikVend
There should be 2 screws on that lever. Loosen then and slide that lever down a bit further and re-tighten. Should be good to go.
NYCandyMaN
there has to be a spacer between that lever and the door to prevent the lever from going all the way back
bulknoob
Thanks for all of the replies; after your comments the mechanism makes a lot more sense. In my case it turned out that the whole coin mech wasn’t properly seated all of the way back, so after I reseated it the mech started working properly again. I should also adjust those two screws as was suggested b/c even fully seated its still close to slipping back into being jammed. Thanks again everyone. vendman0729
I feel like this a common mistake a lot of people have and I had a similar problem with my Vendo 540 when I 1st started. Also, I hate the way Dixie Narco designed the whole entire coin mechanism thing. A while back, my coin chute in my 501E would jam up with coins and coins didn't travel down properly to their designated location. This is another thing to watch out for with these 501E machines. Had to order a new coin chute which did end up fixing the problem. I'm glad you figured it out.
