JGEASTERN
Just picked up a vendo 407 on site with product in machine and working. 7 select buttons Columns 1-5 from right to left are wide 6-7-8 are narrow. Select button 1 works column 1 col 2 is empty sel button 2 works col 3, sel 3 col 4, sel 4 col 5, sel 5 col 6, sel 6col 7 sel7 col 8. Not sure if col 2 is tied to button 1 and col 1. Can any sel button be assigned to vend from 2 columns. If so how do you program buttons? Not familiar with this machine. Any help is appreciated. JGEASTERN
Found a diagram. Looks like button 1 controls column 1 and 2. Not sure if it alternates vend col 1 first then col 2 on next vend or if column 1 empty's first then column 2 starts to vend. Thanks for help
cvending
Columns 1&2 are tied together and alternate columns when vending. These help to keep product from sitting in one column and getting stale. Is this a coke branded machine?
AZVendor
Whether it has a Coke sign on it or not it was born as, and will remain, a machine built for Coke. They always wanted the first two columns set up to vend the top button which was always Coke for them. If you pull the motor cover off you will see the sequencing solenoid mounted below the two motors on cols 1 and 2. This is for single price machines. Later Vendo's used a logic board (Ver 5.2) which was programmed to do the same thing even though those machines had 8 buttons. In that machine you could put a Ver 5.1 board in it and have normal operation of the 8 selections.
JGEASTERN
Yes it is a coke machine. See sequence solenoid mounted in outer door and it was disconnected. Either former owner only wanted use as a 7 column unit or maybe col 2 has a problem, not sure. Is there a motor test mode so I can verify the function of each column like my d n 501? Thanks for the help
AZVendor
No test mode on a single price machine. Reconnect the solenoid, put money in and see what happens. It may be a bad solenoid or a motor. When the solenoid is connected and you press selection 1 the solenoid should fire if it's good. The switch on it could be bad though. If reconnecting it causes the machine to switch between columns then it and the motors are okay.
