Ryred
Hello, my kids purchased a Cavalier machine 3 years ago, which has finally died. I don't want them to make another mistake by buying a machine that they can't get parts for. I have found what I think are 3 Dixie Narco and one Vendo marchine in their price range. I have identified one of the DNs and the vendo, but not sure on the other 2 models (and the sellers don't know atm). The Pepsi DN 501E is the cheapest, but requires and upgraded coin mech. The coke machine (is it also a DN 501E?) and the Vendo are $100 more. The unknown DN is $250 more than the 501E, but had the cooling system replaced 3 years ago. Assuming they are all functional, any suggestions on which one they should purchase? Thanks for your help!
AngryChris
Just by looking, I'd only steer you towards the blue Pepsi graphics machine. It looks like a typical 501e. If it vends and it's anything near $500, you can replace the cooling, mech and validator, add a card reader, etc, and still have an excellent machine that does everything for pretty cheap. I would only get the bottom two if they were really cheap and in great condition.
Ryred
Thanks for the insight! I can get the blue Pepsi for $300. I'm trying to arrange to see it this week to test it out. I will need to upgrade the coin mech in it, as it currently doesn't accept Canadian $2 coins. Our current Cavalier machine I believe has a Coinco 9300 series, which does accept $2 coins. Would this Coinco be compatible, or do the Dixie Narcos only take Mars units?
AZVendor
If the Cavalier was a multiprice machine then you can put the coin mech from it into the E model. Coinco or Mars doesn't matter as long as they are interchangeable models. You'll have to see the Pepsi machine to be sure. Go by the model number on the side of the coin mech, not the family of mech on the front of it.
