delb101
Hi I have a GPL 171 that is going to a small location It only has 5 trays - 3 snack and 2 candy (no gum/min or pastry tray) I moved one of the snack trays to the bottom for pastrys and moved my candy tray up. But my Candy tray will NOT work in the "C" slot (where snack were) Only every other candy slot will work C0 - C2 - C4 C6 The machine thinks there is still a snack tray there. I went in the programming and don't see any options to define. How to I get all the slots working? Can someone help? I really need a pastry tray at the bttm Thanks Del
AZVendor
Try pressing your door switch to force the machine to scan all the motors. This should force the board to recognize where your motors are now. Don't forget to move your selection labels and to set prices for all selections that have moved. delb101
This machines does not have a door switch...it don't home the motors Its a older machine made in 1998 But surprisingly enough I found it is it also MDB and hooked a USA card reader to it and it works GREAT I just cant get the candy tray to work The snack tray I moved to the bottom works perfectly. I turned the machine on and off several time to see if I could get the board to recognize those extra 4 motors...but it wont
AngryChris
The motors were probably disabled from the factory. I had a National 474 that had a bad board and I had to go far down the menu to uncouple some motors, enable some motors, enable some motors, etc... Turns out that my board was bad but I don't think that's your case. My point is that you may have to enable some motors in the menu. I find it hard to believe that there's no door switch though. Are you absolutely sure that there is no door switch?
delb101
I doubled check...no door switch....even checked the parts manual and service manual I don't know how the motors reset or home them selves All 8 selections work if you put it back down in E ...but in C tray...only 4 will work....very odd

Have you tried test vending? If they test vend, that means that the board recognizes them. If the board does recognize them, then I would imagine that you need to enable those selections that aren't working. If the board will not vend those selections in a test vend, then the board probably simply doesn't recognize them. I don't know about the GPL 171 but many of the GPL machines had dual spirals. What I do NOT know is if those motors were coupled or if they simply used one motor to drive two spirals at once. I don't think it will really matter but I really think a test vend will answer a lot of questions here.
rmorris1953
I found out the other day on a LCM it won't go into diagnostic mode after making changes to motors. It would test vend the motor but would not vend. Make another selection. You could let the service mode time out and the motor still didn't work. If you haven;t powered down and wait a few seconds and turn it back on try that. It worked on the LCM which also don't have a service switch. Rexlex
My GPL 171 has six trays. Is there room for another tray on the bottom? Mine also has gum/mint tray that is basically attached to the back of the delivery pan. You'd see that if it was present.
delb101
Hey Rex My GPL 171 only has 5 trays.....NO Gum / Mint My very bottom is Candy (8 selections)....I want to swap that with C row...so I have pastry tray at bottom So the new configeration would be: Tray A - Snack - works great Tray B - Snack - Works great Tray C- Candy - Only 4 motors work - every other motor Tray D - Candy - works great Tray E - Pastry - works great How do I enable motors on the GPL? There is no door switch My GPL thinks I still have a snack tray there so only 4 motors will work.

Rexlex
Sorry, I just got mine on Saturday and am just learning about it. Was just hoping for a simple fix of adding another row on the bottom. You could call tech support and ask them.

If you tried to add a 7th shelf you wouldn't have enough clearance between shelves for any product height.
delb101
Yea..I dont want to add a 7th shelf...I just want a pastry tray at bottom Yes I have unplugged it 4-5 times, went into test mode a couple times, changed out to the other candy shelf, read manual a couple times It still only vends every other motor for both candy shelves Very weird...it still only vends every other candy motor....I dont see how to enable those 4 motors Plus its crane...You cant get customer support ....they want to charge you $25 just to say HI to you
AngryChris
It's worth the $25.
