sweetstop
I am sure some of you have used it but the Rustoleum Hammered spray paint is great stuff. no primer spray right over the rust light sand to remove the flakes, thats it!
lurtsman
Light sand + spray 1 coat? That's all you did? Very nice. I've been considering painting the stands I have for sale. With 40 it would take all day though, and I'd need some pretty nice weather.
sweetstop
I put it on pretty heavy, several coats, maybe 4 or 5 did 3 bases so far and still feels like enough for 1 or 2 more just under $6 can they also have a brush on for like $14 a quart, I may try that next time I have some really rusty bases, I can put it on heavier with a brush. Nick505
I use the rustoleum truck bed liner. I buy it in the court and brush it on. No need to sand. Just make sure to wipe the sands down with a rag and you are good to go. I like this because it is tough to wear off the bottom of the stands. dogcow
painting over rust is a bad idea, you should remove the rust with ospho first
dougdad65
Look real good!! The brush on paint may leave brush marks.
Action Vending
I paint gray hammered rustoleom on the machine lids and even entire machines because It saves alot of time sanding. I scuff the surface so the paint adheres well and wipe it with wax and grease remover and it covers the uneven surfaces very nicely.
Hillbilly
Nice tip. Is it available in red? Or just the hammered metal colors?
Action Vending
Yes its available in red but sometimes its out of stock and you have to order it. The red is a bit darker than factory red.
