Walta
If you have a model 1 or an early model 2 this is normal as the motors have no home switches so the board has no way of knowing how the motor is positioned. The late 2 and all 3 have switches on the motors and there is a set of software options that you can set to home the motor. This is the thing I dislike most about the early AMS machines at whenever I walk up to one at least 1 of the 40 products is positioned so it can easy to shake out of the spiral and into the bin. matthew0582
i have a sensit 2 and 3 models, they both do it so it must be a setting somewhere?
Walta
The machine with no switches the board runs the motor until a product fall and breaks the beam in the bin. If the beam is not broken in X number of seconds the credit left on the machine and the customer is prompted to “Make Another Selection” if a selection fails 3 times it is locked out until the door is opened and closed. matthew0582
ok just read the manual, i guess it turns untill a product drops if sensit is turned on. i guess maybe i should keep the spiral at 12 o clock position instead of the 6 o clock
Walta
From the Sensit 3 manual. 3 - Motor Type Motor Type allows the user to change the motor-stop and credit deduction behavior. See the ‘Motor Types’ table below for more details on the various settings available under this function. Enter tray – enter tray number to change motor type. Press 1 to change motor type. Press # to save and exit. Press 2 to save entire vendor to this motor type. Note: All motors on a tray must be of the same design (S2 or S3), but trays with different motor types can be used in the same vendor. Motor Type Descriptions HomeSensor/ will make one full turn and stop at home position. If a drop was detected, credit will be accepted. If no drop detected, “Please Make Another Selection” will scroll allowing the customer to try that or another selection- or press coin return. Sensit This setting ignores the Motor’s home switch (if present) completely. When the product is detected the motor is stopped and the vend cycle is complete. HomeSensor +/ This is similar to HomeSensor/, except that if no drop is detected the motor will make 2 short jogs in an effort to dislodge the product. If the motor stops off the home position, the next vend will begin the process again: it will stop at home and if a drop is detected the vend cycle is complete. If not, try up to two jogs. This is similar to the original Sensit sequence, and is the factory default setting for all vendors. Home_Only/ This setting disregards the Sensit system, and will make one complete turn and take credit- whether a drop is detected or not. Auto Sensor Recovery is an improvement to the AMS Sensit system, that allows certain vends even when the sensor system is blocked or malfunctioning. If Motor Type is set to Home/Sensor/3 or Home Sensor+/3, and the sensor system is inoperable, the control will automatically switch to Home_Only/3 and allow a vend. Simply put, the sensors will be ignored, the helix will make a full turn and the credit value will be deducted. Once the error is cleared, the vendor will return to its original sensor setting. Note that this will only work with the 23007 and 23007-01 motors, and during this temporary mode, selecting an item with the older style motor will read “selection unavailable”. AZVendor
AMS machines have a drop sensor-driven guaranteed vend system called Sensit. There have been 3 versions and the original Sensit system works as so: When a product drops and breaks the infrared beam across the top of the delivery bin, the machines sees that, cancels the credit and stops the running motor at that very time. This often leaves the spiral in a position that could lead to the next product close to also falling. There isn't any way to avoid this as it is the design of the system. You also cannot disable the Sensit system. The Sensit 3 system gives you 3 options to set the system to: HomeSensor/ will run the motor one full revolution to the home position. If the item isn't detected then the credit remains and the customer gets a message to Make Another Selection, allowing them to make the same selection again or a different one. The next option is HomeSensor/+ which makes a full turn until reaching home and if the product didn't fall it will jog the motor 2 times to free the item. This ends the vend and might leave the motor off home. The next vend will run in the same way. This the same as the original Sensit system. The third option is Home_Only/ which will ignore the Sensit 3 system and run every motor to home and cancel the credit, regardless of whether a product was vended. The Sensit2 system may work in the same way as the Sensit1 but it has improved sensors and a different logic board and a 2 line credit display.
