TheSnackShackVendingLLC
Ok So I have a few of the fat head mega 60's... The ones with the big gumball globe on top. https://www.smartvending.com/bulk-candy-machines/northwestern-fat-head-mega-60-bulk-vendor--FH-60.html My question is, can I convert these to the square globes? And what would I be buying for exactly? The Super 60 or the Model 60? I'm not 100% sure, but I think the site states that the Mega 60 has a 6 1/2" diameter. A little help here if you know about this conversion please. I have enough to build 2 6 head racks, is why I was asking. Thanks in advance. QuikVend
You'll just need new globes and appropriate lids. Should attach directly to the current hopper.
TheSnackShackVendingLLC
That's what I was thinking. But which body would I buy for exactly? Is there an easy way to tell?
musser
The hopper for the super 60 has a tapped hole in each corner to attach the globe, the regular 60 (glass globe) did not. So if the machines that have the fat heads do not have holes you will need to drill and tap them. You may also need a shorter center rod, but if they need shortened ypu can cut off the ones you have and re thread them.
TheSnackShackVendingLLC
That's the answer I was looking for. Thank you! I'll have a look now and see if they have the holes, I think they do though.
TheSnackShackVendingLLC
Ok if you're facing the machines... Looking directly at the mech... It has 2 holes holding the globe... One in the center on the left, and one in the center on the right, directly across from it. But I'd need 4 holes, one in each corner of the globe, to put a Super 60 Square globe and top on it, right? QuikVend
Are those the only holes you see on the hopper (the metal piece the globe is attached to)? If so, you'll need to drill the 4 homes you need to add the super 60 globe.
TheSnackShackVendingLLC
Yea, that's all I see with the big round globes still attached, I guess there could very well be 4 underneath it I just can't see... Gonna run take one of them off and look from the bottom... BRB haha
TheSnackShackVendingLLC
Nah, I looked from the bottom, it's only 2 holes. Maybe I'll just try to find a globe, top, and hopper assembly. *shrugs*
QuikVend
How many hoppers would you need? I'm sure I have a ton of those I could sell for cheap.
QuikVend
Possiblylids too. They'll need painted though.
TheSnackShackVendingLLC
At least 4 sets. I don't mind restoring them, the machines are immaculate, the globes are crystal clear, but scuffed up a bit. What kinda price are you thinking shipped? NYCandyMaN
the hopper you have is the glass globe hopper which has center rods on each side. NW is out of business, the parts are scarce, I would stay with those fat globes, they hold double the product and make double the profit, the globes are replaceable. TheSnackShackVendingLLC
Happen to have a link to the globes by chance, reason I was wanting to convert is because I can't find the replacements. I think I have 3 12" and a 14". Could possibly be 3 10" and a 12" haha

TheSnackShackVendingLLC
I'm in Brandon, but would definitely be up for a travel to some extent. What part of AL are you in, maybe we could meet somewhere in the middle. The Megas I have are in amazing shape, the globes do have some scuffs tho, but the bodies are flawless.
