Bruce Z
I just purchased a DNCB 489. Apparently a previous owner adapted a later model DBA and coin mech for use in this machine. Neither is working. Wires have been clipped and capped leaving 2 wires in a connector with no female to connect to. One of the wires in the connector has pulled out. I cannot figure out what they were trying to do. Here are a few pictures. Any ideas? I appreciate any thoughts.
AngryChris
I have never heard of a 489. Take a picture of the plug coming from the coin mech as well as the rest of the electronics. You may need a bit of help with this and we can't help without knowing what you're actually working with.
AZVendor
That's a plug from a Coinco validator on a typical single price machine. More pics are needed. If you have a piggyback coin mech plug on your machine with 8 pins in it then you need to replace it with a new one that will then operate a Coinco bill acceptor, if that's what is in the machine. Bruce Z
It's a DNCB 489CC/326-9. I'll send additional pictures in a day or 2. Machine is in my storage unit. Thanks for your help.

Bruce Z
It looks like there's an adapter missing to connect the coin mech to the DBA. The machine was operating before with this update for a few years. I have attached some more pictures that gives more details.
AZVendor
Nope. You have an MDB validator and Coin mech in the machine but since I can see a single price credit relay, you have a single price machine and the validator and mech won't work in it. AngryChris
With an MDB mech and validator in there, one of two things come to mind. Either there is an MDB converter in there we can't see (perhaps because it was removed) or the seller lied to you and just put whatever mech and validator they had in that turd. My money is on the idea they had a converter and took it out and forgot... kept it in storage for years and sold it
Bruce Z
Found a mech that would match existing connector coming from dba. Mech started going crazy. A dispense switch was stuck. Coins still rejecting then I remembered coin mech wouldn't work with empty machine. Now all is well. Thanks for taking the time to help.
