Longer cord needed

Hey guys,

Just need some input again. I have a situation where I have access to a location but the outlet will probably be too far away for the current cord of the machine to reach it. The cord on the machine currently is 8 ft and I need about another foot or so. ( I have no way of moving the machine closer to the outlet) Is there some way to swap out the cord on the machine with a longer one? Or is bad to put any longer cord on the machine?

If it's a refrigerated machine, do not use an extension cord.  Sometimes there is an extra length of service cord inside the machine behind the strain relief.  I would start by seeing if I could get the needed length from there before looking for a " wire stretcher."

You can put a longer cord on, just make sure it's connected to the machine with crimp connectors and the wire gauge is the same size or largerm

Thanks guys for the input. It is a refrigerated machine and I know that an extension cord is not an option. If I can't get the extra length from inside the machine as suggested, then I'll put a complete new longer cord on the machine. Thanks!
