tblake05
Is anyone going? has anyone gone in the past? is it worth it, maybe to just take a mini vacation?
Vendo Mike
I'll bet the City of Atlanta would say that they have at least 20 things more fun to do on your vacation than walking a trade show. I'm guessing your wife would agree.
Vendo Mike
My mentors have always mentioned how much the show has shrunk over the years. I went for the from 2015-2019 and it seemed to be declining a bit. To my knowledge, we will not have a booth at NAMA this year but may send a couple reps. I will circle back with any updates.

AZVendor
@Vendo Mike "To my knowledge, we will not have a booth at NAMA this year but may send a couple reps. " And that's what's wrong with the vending industry. Lack of interest by the manufacturers. Have any of you considered a way to hold Crane responsible for their single-handed destruction of the vending manufacturing environment? Or are you somehow enjoying the fruits of their labors, such as in paring down your legacy parts inventories to mirror the standard that Crane has set. Yes, I'm beating on Vendo, but it's really beating on all of you manufacturers. I had a guy ask me if I had any Vendo gate links for a Vmax as he believed they are no longer available. That is one of the most commonly replaced parts on Vendos from Univendors on up and if it's true then Vendo has really abandoned the industry. tblake05
AZ, thats sort of why I was checking ahead of time if anyone is going? I have no experience with crane/dixi, but if I went, I'd be interested to talk to nayax and selectivend regarding their tech support.

As much as it sucks, what Crane does is outside Vendo's control and we are in no way enjoying any of their fruits. As for the NAMA show, we intend to get back to that but it simply doesn't make sense for us this year. Vendo is still feeling and working through issues from the last couple of years but has in no way abandoned the vending industry. We are holding on for dear life to an industry that is very hot and cold and is primarily filled with reman and used equipment. Aside from big companies like Canteen and major bottlers, most vending operators don't generally buy new equipment which means that manufacturers are beholden to what the paying customers require. I've read several times on this forum that it's better to buy and rebuild/update old 501E's than it is to buy a new machine with current tech and a warranty. We still offer a large amount of parts for VMAX and Uni2 but have discontinued what (a) didn't sell a justifiable volume or (b) tooling wore out and cost to reinvest was not justified. Like any company, we have to be careful where we invest our limited resources. While we still support our equipment in the field for at least 10 years (beyond in most cases), Vendo is not a parts house but an equipment manufacturer. In order to stay afloat and keep our production lines moving (and people employed), we have to sell and manufacture equipment. Just as it was your responsibility to your employees to make good decisions to stay open, my managers owe it to the people on our lines, our dock and in customer service to make decisions with that focus in mind.
Vendo Mike
I learned yesterday that I am 1 of 3 Regional Reps that Vendo is sending to NAMA. If anyone wants to chat, I'll be the middle-aged balding guy with the "how many candy bars do you really need in that bag" look on my face.
