Bev 2 Dn5800 Picker cup wont shoot out the drink

I just got a Bev2 DN5800, and when I put in my coins and enter my item number(A1), the arm goes up and collects the drink. Then it takes about 5 seconds to go to the delivery spot, and then turns around and goes home with the drink. Then refunds the money. It does not try to shoot the drink out at all, just goes to the delivery spot and does nothing. Do I need to replace the cup port motor? or what would you guys recommend?

edit: also in the error is says ctrl power out

Erase the control power out error.  That's from the machine being unplugged too long.  Here's the generic manual:  https://www.dsvendinginc.com/images/pdf-manuals/dn42.pdf

The troubleshooting starts on page 28.  If this is your first vending machine then you made a big mistake by getting such a complicated machine.

Make it a habit to clear all errors at each machine visit.  Press the service button twice. Then press A and display should read list errors. Press * and scroll through all errors. That should erase all stored errors.

do the boards on these bevmax's go bad often?

All boards are subject to the environment in which they are used.  A BevMax 2 is not a recent model so the board can be dated.
